The Chapman Collection:

A creative collaboration between Renauld and the Chapman Trust that celebrates the legacy of Colin Chapman. 

Colin Chapman is recognised as the greatest innovator in the 75 years of Formula One.  He was an engineering genius who led the way in racing car design across four decades.  His inspirational leadership of Team Lotus made it the dominant force in the Sixties and Seventies when Lotus racing drivers won the World Championship seven times

The Chapman is a limited-edition sunglasses collection that draws its inspiration from the iconic eyewear Chapman sported during the 1973 Formula One season, a golden era for Lotus and the legendary Type 72.

The Chapman Innovators:

‘There’s nothing lighter than a hole’ is the cleverest of Chapman’s design principles and was used to encourage his designers to always keep in mind the number one objective of minimising weight.

Capturing the distinct style that Colin set in the F1 pitlane during the adventurous Seventies and celebrating his engineering genius - the innovators sunglasses feature bold repeat-holes punched into in the temple band to realise necessary strength and minimum weight.

Accompanied by a bespoke Chapman leather sunglasses case, lens cloth, presentation box, and a signed certificate of authentication.

Renauld is passionate to preserve the legacy of motorsport’s golden era.  With extensive support by Clive Chapman (son of Lotus founder Colin Chapman) Renauld brings Colin Chapman’s story to life.  Clive’s participation has provided priceless insights and archival content; we owe him a huge thank you.
