Chic effortless practicality.

First designed in 1964, the ‘Continental™’ was made famous by Elizabeth Taylor and featured in the 1964 film, ‘Les Felines.’ Originally called the ‘Executive’ and ‘International’ the sunglass was ahead of its time in that it was designed intentionally for both men and women.

The reborn Continental is equipped with optically perfect, anti-glare UV400 performance lenses with a distinct, bold brow-bar. The wrap style is completed with the ‘slipstream’, wave-shaped arm band, and ‘whisper’ sprung hinge, designed for comfort. Continental hosts Renauld’s-signature curvature DNA.

Available with either a white or black brow-bar, completed with two choices of precious metal plated frames: 24 carat Yellow Gold or Palladium. Lenses are available in 41mm or 45mm height (measured from top to bottom at the central point of the frame) and come in six colourways.

Every Year Renauld will release a strictly limited run of the Continental across select colourways. Our promise is to ensure that our sunglasses remain precious and unique.

THE CONTINENTAL

LEGENDARY STYLE

First designed in 1964, the ‘Continental™’ was originally called the ‘Executive’ and ‘International’ and was ahead of its time in that it was designed intentionally for both men and women. The sunglass featured in the cult 1964 film, ‘Les Félines’, a suspenseful neo film-noir, set on the French Riviera.

Elizabeth Taylor was famously photographed wearing her Continental sunglasses, accompanied by Richard Burton, in 1970 at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Hollywood. They became a favoured choice, partnering her on transatlantic trips to the Riviera and other glamourous destinations.

Throughout the 1960’s, the Continentals featured prominently in Renauld’s ‘Where, Who and What’ advertising campaign photographed in Paris, London, Rome and Cannes.
